Wall Street Journal says Japanese giant plans to launch mobile devices that play gaming handheld’s wares, multifunctional tablet in 2010. Shortly after Sony officially announced the PSP Go at the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo , reports surfaced that the electronics maker was already working on a follow-up to the handheld device.

Australian Federal Attorney General’s Department to prepare report on public consultation into R18+ for games; Minister lauds “high level of interest.” Australians, it seems, are more than a little interested in the issue of video game classification. Figures released yesterday by the Federal Minister for Home Affairs Brendan O’Connor show that more than 55,000 submissions were received into the recently completed public submission process on whether Australia should introduce an R18+ rating for games, with the Minister stating that the large response rate indicated a “high level of interest in this issue in the Australian community.” Most Aussies have shown support for R18+ so far

PlatinumGames’ fourth collaboration with Sega confirmed as a third-person shooter, will arrive in West in 2010. When PlatinumGames was first revealed to the world, Sega was heralding a four-game deal with the upstart studio of ex-Clover Studio developers . Today the publisher confirmed that the last of those games–the Shinji Mikami-directed Vanquish–would see a winter release this year
